What Is Yoga?
If you are like most people who have participated in a yoga class (or not), you know that yoga is great for your flexibility, balance, endurance and muscle tone. You may have noticed after leaving a yoga class that there is a wave of peace showering over you simultaneously as an abundance of energy rushes in. This is the start of an amazing practice and is a great 'exercise' yet there are SO many more goodies in store for you and your yoga practice!
Yoga was not just created solely as an asana ("physical poses") practice. It was created as a complete science encompassing all eight limbs, of which asana is one. The reason for yoga was to prepare the body for long meditations. The word yoga comes from the Sanskrit root yuj, meaning union. Yoga brings the body, mind and soul into balance through regular practices done with devotion.

Do you want yoga sessions that address a specific area you are needing help with? We can create yoga for weight loss, mental clarity and focus, yoga to open the chakras, relaxation, or chair yoga. You name it, we can do it!
Do you want a Hatha centered class? This class is a gentle, basic yoga with no flow between poses. It is usually slower-paced, focused on stretching with some basic pranayama (breathing) exercises. We incorporate beginner poses, relaxation techniques and perhaps seated meditation at the end.
Is flowing more your style? If so, choose our Vinyasa class. We connect our breath with the movement and flow from asana (pose) to asana. Cat-Cow is an easy example of this. Sun Salutations is a more advanced example of a vinyasa flow. With vinyasa, pranayama, relaxation and meditation can be offered.
