Join me as I journey through my own personal and professional goals and share with you how I overcome challenges with the tools (yoga, mediation, ayurveda, holistic health, fitness, running, etc) that I have acquired throughout my life. Life is not always easy, yet we can ALWAYS strive to become better and share what we learn along the way to make the journey easier.
So what are YOUR 2017 goals? If you have not done so already, take some time to sit quietly and reflect on what is important in your life.
Maybe even meditate for a few minutes before your start writing. Don't know how to meditate? No problem. Just sit quietly with your eyes closed for 3 to 31 minutes, breathe deeply in and out through your nose taking a 4 to 10 second inhale and exhale. Open your eyes and start writing.
Do a complete brain dump of all you want to manifest, do, achieve and have in 2017. Don't worry about HOW you will do it, this is just WHAT YOU WANT. Break the sections into 3 (1. Personal, 2. Family, 3. Professional).
My 2017 goals:
- Personal: Daily Sadhana (spiritual practice of yoga and meditation that is broadcast live for students), Daily Workout (strength or cardio), Nutrition (gluten, dairy & refined sugar free), College (consistently taking one 8 wk fast-track course).
- Family: Maintaining a loving relationship with my husband and baby girl where we spend quality time growing together through creative ways.
- Professional: Growing our Corporate Wellness Company to 10 contracts with monthly sessions, presenting at companies and events, hosting monthly retreats and workshops, teaching our first 200HR Yoga Teacher Training.
Accountability - How have YOU done so far?
If you started your goals on January 1st, how are you doing as of today? GREAT? Wow, congrats! If you fell short of some of your goals, don't fret and lose faith. Albert Einstein said, "In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity." You are creating life long changes and this takes time. We are not robots and will move forward at times and have set backs at others. The most important thing is that YOU keep your eyes on the overall end goal and ALWAYS keep moving towards the highest version of yourself. Sometimes, life is life and you take one step forward in quick sand and other times you sprint up Mount Everast... It is ALL an evolution so give yourself a breather, yet maintain your focus!
How have I done so far?
Personal Goal of daily sadhana, check (without the live broadcast though :-(... promise this is coming soon!). College, check. Daily workout and nutrition need some improvement still. I've walked A LOT and danced a few times, yet have not made it into our gym for strength training. Goal: today is cardio run and tomorrow is weights.
Family Goal is a definite check! We have spent some amazing quality time with our loved ones who are visiting from out of town and we have explored all over Balboa Park this past weekend.
Professional Goal has started off on a good footing with finishing our first corporate wellness video (check it out here!), writing this blog, and promoting our upcoming Reiki Retreat Weekend at our ashram.
Please comment on what your Personal / Family / Professional goals are for 2017 and how you are doing with them so far. I would LOVE to hear from you!
